These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Hi Fam LLC (“HiFam,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a limited liability company organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States. They govern your access to and use of the HiFam website, web application, and related services (the “Service”). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The short version
- HiFam is set up by a parent or guardian (18+). You add your kids; you're in charge of the account.
- It's an AI companion, not a safety service or a professional. The safety flags are best-effort and don't replace your supervision — if a child is ever in danger, call your local emergency number.
- 7 days free, no card to start. After that, plans start at $12.99/month and renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel anytime, in two taps, and you keep access to the end of the period you've paid for. No retention-department phone maze.
- Your family's content stays yours. We only use it to run and improve the Service, exactly as our Privacy Policy describes — never sold, never used for advertising.
- Play fair: don't misuse the Service, break the safety features, or use it to build a competing product.

1.Who may use the Service
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account. The Service is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or legal guardian (the “Account Holder”). Children may use the Service only through a profile created and supervised by their Account Holder. By adding a child profile, you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian of that child and that you consent to your child’s use of the Service and to our collection and use of their information as described in our Privacy Policy.
2.What HiFam is — and is not
HiFam is an AI companion designed to engage children in thoughtful conversation, shaped by the values and settings the Account Holder configures. HiFam also offers tools that can flag conversations matching patterns you ask us to watch for.
HiFam is not a safety, surveillance, monitoring, medical, mental-health, or emergency service. Our safety features are provided on a best-effort basis, may not detect every concerning situation, and are not a substitute for parental supervision or professional care. If you believe a child is in danger or experiencing a crisis, contact your local emergency services (such as 911 in the United States) or a qualified professional immediately.
HiFam uses artificial intelligence, which can produce responses that are inaccurate, incomplete, or otherwise unexpected. You should review HiFam’s responses and not rely on them as professional, medical, legal, financial, or educational advice.
3.Your account
- You are responsible for the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including activity within the child profiles you create.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- Notify us promptly at hello@hifam.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
4.Subscriptions, free trial, and billing
Free trial
We offer a 7-day free trial — full access, no credit card, no strings. Kick the tires and let your kids interrogate it about dinosaurs. If you choose to continue after the trial, you’ll add payment details and your paid subscription begins.
Plans and renewal
Paid plans start at $12.99/month, with the current options and prices shown at checkout. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date. Prices may change; we will give you reasonable notice of any change before it takes effect.
Cancellation
You may cancel at any time from the Subscription settings in your account at app.hifam.ai — no “are you sure?” gauntlet. If you cancel during the free trial, you will not be charged. If you cancel a paid subscription, you will keep access until the end of your current billing period, and you will not be charged again.
5.Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to permit anyone to:
- Use the Service in violation of any law or to harm, exploit, or endanger any child.
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with the Service’s safety, filtering, or security features.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the Service except as permitted by law.
- Use the Service to develop a competing product, or to train another AI model.
- Upload malicious code or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users’ accounts.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.
6.Content and intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text, and branding, is owned by Hi Fam LLC and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your family’s personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.
You retain ownership of the content you and your family provide (such as values, prompts, and messages). You grant us a license to use that content as necessary to operate and improve the Service, consistent with our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the content you submit and represent that you have the rights to submit it.
7.Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (such as cloud hosting, payment processing, and AI model providers). Your use of the Service may be subject to those providers’ terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.
8.Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, THAT ITS AI OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE, OR THAT ITS SAFETY FEATURES WILL IDENTIFY EVERY CONCERNING SITUATION.
9.Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HI FAM LLC AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THESE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
10.Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hi Fam LLC and its owners, employees, and suppliers from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
11.Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
12.Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Pennsylvania will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
13.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where it matters, tell you by email or in the app — no 2am rewrites slipped past you in 8-point font. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
