Hi Fam AI is built for kids, with parents in charge. An automated safety check reviews every message and reply, you choose which topics are off the table, and if a conversation shows signs of self-harm, bullying, predatory contact or radicalisation, you get an alert. No AI is perfect, so it doesn’t replace your supervision, but you’ll know when something needs you.

Most replies come from Anthropic’s Claude. OpenAI checks messages for safety and powers voice and pictures. Both process conversations under API terms that don’t allow training on them, so your child’s chats are not used to train AI models. We never sell your data, and there are no ads.

Yes. By default you and any co-parent can read your child’s full conversations in the parent dashboard. To give an older child more privacy, switch them to summaries only and you’ll see topics and a timeline instead of every word. Conversations flagged for safety are always shown to you in full.

From early readers to teens. You set each child’s age, and Hi Fam AI pitches its answers to fit: short and gentle for younger kids, more like a respectful older peer for teens. Kids use it through a profile you create; they can’t sign up on their own.

No. Ask it to “just write my essay” and it asks what your child thinks first. It nudges, asks questions back and helps them work things out themselves, so the work stays theirs.

No. You describe your family’s values in your own words. Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, humanist, secular and more are all supported, and families who’d rather leave faith out can simply say so.

In the app or at app.hifam.ai, open the parent area and choose Account → Delete my account & data. That permanently removes your account and all your children’s data from our database straight away. You can also export your data first, delete single conversations, or set how long chat history is kept. Cancel any paid subscription first, since deleting doesn’t cancel it.
